Podcasts are a wonderful way to learn a new language, and luckily there are several good shows that focus on Italian. My favorites are My Daily Phrase Italian and LearnItalianPod. If you own an iPod or other MP3 player, you can take advantage of this medium to listen to Italian conversations while you are driving, commuting to work or just walking your dog.
It’s powerful, effective and free.

Great podcast! Podcasts, Skype and the Internet are certainly the wave of the future for language learning. I am always looking for new ways to improve my Italian through the use of the internet. I have subscribed to and enjoyed LearnItalianPod. Here are some of my other favorites:

Pod Cast Radio Arlecchino (http://tltc.la.utexas.edu/ra/) – a delightful and a fun way to brush up on your Italian grammar from the University of Texas. Not only do I enjoy the format, but it has deepened my interest in la commedia dell'arte!
Languamedia Pod Casts http://www.learnitalian.bravehost.com/) Massimo personalizes each Podcast lesson to your specific requirements, and speaks directly to you using your name. Each pod cast includes written exercises and pdf explanations. This is not a free podcast however, ($10 US or Eur 8) but it is well worth the price and you conclude your podcast and lesson with a Skype conversation with Massimo.
